Incorporated in 1994, Crescent Fragrances Pvt. Ltd (CFPL), started commercial production in 1998. Our Chief Promoter, Mr. Sudhakar Yeshwant Keny is a MSC in Organic Chemistry from Mumbai University.

In 1964, after finishing his Post Graduation, he joined Industrial Perfumes Ltd.(IP), a sister concern of Tata Oil Mills Co. Ltd (TOMCO),. IP was manufacturing Fragrance Ingredients for the in house consumption of TOMCO’s range of Soaps and Detergents and Lakme’s (a 100% Subsidiary of TOMCO) range of Cosmetics. Mr. Keny has a rich experience of 32 years in IP, having worked in several Senior Executive Positions, before retiring as the Production Manager of their Aroma Chemicals Division. During his tenure he was responsible for researching and creating a number of new fragrance ingredients/molecules and their scaling up to commercial production levels.
After his voluntary retirement from IP, Mr. Keny set up his Aroma Chemical Manufacturing Unit in his native village Cuncolim, in Goa, with the altruistic objective of generating employment in his hometown. Mr. Keny has been a part of our Fragrance and Flavours Industry for more than 50 years as of now and is still actively involved in CFPL’s working as Director and Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Sameer Keny, our young and dynamic Managing Director, is a B.E. in Polymers from the highly reputed Maharashtra Institute of Technology(MIT),Pune.

After finishing his Engineering, he worked as a Technical Sales Officer in Asian Paints (I) Ltd., where he was handling sales of Industrial Paints to high profile clients viz. Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (Kota), National Thermal Power Plant (Anta, Rajashthan), IOCL Refineries (Mathura and Panipat), Northern Railways (Delhi) and many more. However, his quest for greater learning drove him to leave this highly lucrative job and go in for further studies. He did his MBA in Marketing from Department of Management Studies, Pune University and also did his Diploma in Foreign Trade from the Internationally reputed Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade, Pune. He then joined Ahmedabad based textile group Ashima Ltd., as an Area Manager and was responsible for marketing their ICON brand of ready to stitch shirt and trouser lengths. His responsibilities involved Brand Management, Distribution Network setting up, Channel Management and Advertising.
In 1999, Mr Sameer decided to join his father’s entrepreneurial venture. He received his formal technical training in the manufacturing of Natural Essential Oils, Aroma Chemicals and Perfumery/Fragrance Compounds from his father, Mr. Sudhakar Keny. Mr. Sameer is largely responsible for the remarkable turnaround and growth achieved by the company over the last decade or so. He has completely transformed the Company from a family owned SME set up, to a professionally managed, customer centric, system oriented Organisation.
The total installed capacity of the CFPL is 120 MT, the aggregate capacity being dependent on the product mix. The company which started manufacturing with about 10 products in 1998, now manufactures more than 75 products.
One of the most significant aspects of the project is the flexibility in the plant & machinery, which allows nearly 100 new products to be added to the product range, depending upon the market demand, at little or no extra cost.
